Is there anyway i can wire a blinking led to come on when i lock my doors like a dummy alarm?

 

alarms come with an led that does exactly what you described but you have to hook it up to the alarm brain to make it flash when armed. I dont know of any other way to do it without using an alarm brain.

 

i know i can buy an led that blinks i just dont know how to triger it once i lock the doors

 

thats were you need the alarm brain. If you simply tap the led into the wires for the door locks it will only come on when the door actually locks, after it locks then it would go off. When hooked to the alarm brain the led is on as long as the alarm is armed(doors are locked) and it is the brain that keeps the led flashing after the doors have been locked. I do not see any other way of doing this with out an alarm brain.

 

They got them on ebay for under $10. Stubbled across them a long time ago
