A 3000 stall is kinda huge for a such a small/mild camshaft.

I think you'd be better with in the low to mid 2000's for rpm.

The LS6 cam does have a 117.5 LSA, so it's soggy down low

Swapping camshaft is another option.

1500 stall? That痴 less than most stock stalls.

Cam is awful for a heavy truck. The 117.5 LSA turns it into a high rpm screamer......like the z06.

What size gears?

My AWD 3.73 gear Escalade stalls at 2000, which is around the same as my 17 Camaro with a 8L90. The Camaro stall feels a lot looser although it does have a little lower gear ratio but the Camaro has 2.77 rear gears. There is something weird about the stock stall, it's almost like the first quarter of a second or too right off brake stalling it will multiply torque good, then after like a half a second just completely fall on its face and almost feels like it sucks torque from the drivetrain and its like it just completely couples and stops providing torque multiplication. Then you see your RPMs only at about 2500, so you're in that low torque dip area of the curve on a stock 4.8/5.3/6.0 and then it starts to take off again but not until you hit the peak torque area at about 3500 rpms.

I put a little TBSS I6 stall in my H2 and it was about 2600 rpm which I thought was perfect. Most trucks are going to be 1600 ish factory.

That cam doesn't come on until 3000-3500 as you've noticed. Not a great cam for a truck although I had one with a rear mount turbo many years ago and was extremely happy. If you're keeping the cam pick a stall that is right below torque peak for best results although it may be looser than you'd like for a DD. I would go with a different cam not boosted and pick a higher stall accordingly. Just for info purposes my 14 stalled at 2300 stock and now 3k blown stock converter. If I recall my 07 was around 1500 but I went looser with a 3k 9.5" and it lit up hard.
