Default Performabuilt Transmission

I see Performabuilt is a sponsor on this website, so I thought I'd comment on one of their products.

I recently bought and installed a Performabuilt 4L60E "Heavy Hauler" transmission for my '93 GMC 3/4 ton 4X4 and couldn't be happier with the transmission. The truck is basically stock with a rebuilt 5.7 engine a year ago and the transmission swap actually increased my gas mileage slightly and tows my 26 foot 5th wheel much better than it did before, with nice solid shifts and no rise in temperature on long hills like was apt to happen before the changeout. I'd highly recommend this transmission. I like the elimination of the partial lockup of the clutch too. It effectively makes the transmission a 5 speed. The price was better than the rebuild quotes I got locally and the free shipping was a bonus. All in all, I've had a great experience with Performabuilt.

They get rid of the PWM (pulse width modulation). That way when the converter locks it is fully locked, not slipping on lockup.PWM makes converter lockup gradually and smooth where you pretty much can not even feel when it locks.Getting rid of PWM will get rid of converter slippage!!

PWM - does putting in a shift kit take care of that ? Or what takes care of that ?
