Well, I've been thinking of selling the truck to pay off the boat and then get something new to go back and forth to work. You know something good on gas and still fun to drive. So I drove 2 hrs south to test drive a little Cobalt SS Supercharged w/ my bro. it was the closest one we could find, to see how I liked it (was the wife's idea...yeah shocked the hell outa me too...). Here's my thoughts on it...Clutch was reeaaally sensitive, I killed it like three times on the test drive, with the first time just trying to get to the driveway leaving the parking lot. Seemed like it had a dead spot till about 3K RPM's then it pulled but seemed flat across the revs till the rev limiter (yep I hit it...). Was surprized to see it hit 120 mph so quick and was still pulling but the speed nanny in the back seat was left on and she was reminding me to let out of it (bro. in the pass. seat on the other hand said nothing but "it surprized me that it got to 120 that quick...). Was ultra-smooth at that speed. Once I got used to the clutch it wasn't bad around town. Final thoghts on the Cobalt SS...needs more power, and a smoother clutch engagement... And then we drove another hour closer to home and pulled up to the Pontiac dealership... They had a Silver 2006 GTO there and we all climbed in. Fired it up and the LS2 came to life. Now this was something I was a little more used to. It was a M6 but I forgot about it for the whole test drive untill we got back and I tried to back it in and reverse wasn't where it was supposed to be. I felt pretty stupid because I only used five cogs the whole time we were test driving it. My thoughts on the GTO compared to the Cobalt were...(now don't hang me on this one but...) The little Cobalt actually felt faster. The GTO was smoother and the clutch engaged a hell of alot smoother but the ride was alot more rough in the GTO, power delivery didn't impress me for an M6(hell the TBSS felt like it could kick it's *** no problem...). The ride felt a little wobbly, and the driveline felt like it wanted to vibrate out of the car cruising in town but the steering was precise. I liked the short throw shifters in both cars. The GTO definately had more room. We all came away feeling that the Cobalt SS Supercharged would have taken the bigger more powerfull GTO so I was a little disappointed w/ it. Also you can get a stage 2 kit for the little Cobalt that could bump up the output by 40 horse from the factory. Final thought on the GTO...probably needs tuning, headers, exhaust, and a cam, and for me some suspension work to get that body under control. So there you have it my thoughts on the test drives I took today. Just remember that these are only my opinions on how I felt after walking away from the two vehicles. I'm not flaming on either vehicle just giving my two cents. Your opinion may be different...Zed

Thought the same thing too but after driving the Cobalt and trying to do a clutch drop at about 2.5K, scratching the tires and then power went to nill and then stopped spinning and surprizingly woke up and started to pull like crazy, just like the TBSS does, I would have to beg to differ...and I couldn't find a traction control in the Cobalt...
