Default Powerbond underdrive pulley install...important info!

If you install one without the crank bolt and then get angry with rush hour traffic and stick your foot into it real good, when you finally get a gap to pull out, then proceed to spin and bounce it off the rev limiter at 7200 rpm. When it hits the rev limiter the 3rd time consecutively it will sling off, land on the frame without damaging anything, and proceed to spin between the frame and the sway bar at 7200 for 45 seconds until it stops.

Then if you re-install it properly with the bolt it will do just fine.:

That is all.

Wonderful imaging, powerful prose. LMFAO, it must of made one hell of a racket spinning on the rails, did you jump and run?

I knew exactly what it was when it happened. The little pulley is 2-3 times heavier than a stock balancer. I guess when it bounced hard on the rev limiter, changing rpms fast it spun on the crank (with the fresh grease on it from install) and just walked off and landed on the frame and kept spinning.
I initially was just thinking, "oh ****, where the hell did it go"? I was expecting to be on the side of the highway looking for a chunk of steel spinning at 150 mph up in the weeds. I was watching my mirrors looking for it and almost ran into the guard rail with no power steering. I was very lucky. I was then confused initially with what the hell was making the racket still after I shut the motor off. I was coasiting for ~300 yards thinking, "Damn! when's that thing going to stop"? I was expecting hood carnage, hoses, e-fans etc.

Moral of the story...Don't too much when you build an engine or you will have a dream that convinces yourself that you must have a early crank that didn't have threads in it for the balancer. Wait till you sober up and try to install the bolt again.
The stock balancer was doing fine for a year with no bolt.
