True but im pretty sure they use GM planets which (i dont think) have the oil slinging paddles on it like the 4 pinion planets do. I could be wrong. This is what another tranny guy told me a while ago. BTW Im not bashing FLT in any way cuz i am totally happy with my tranny. My converter on the other hand, is a different story.

I'm not sure who told you guy's that " 5 pinion planets get starved for oil." Chuck has been testing these since they were released from gm. We only use ac delco 5 pinion planetaries and have never seen this. Maybe the guy who started this rumor was using a jap piece of ****! We throw these away and just laugh. These planets are made from the same materiel as the 4 pinion planets which is cast steel. Also are very cheap and will never be used at FLT. The ac delco 5 pinion planets are made of solid steel. Much stronger than the earlier planets. The only case I have seen with a lube failure had a restricted cooler and the hole gear train was melted. Not the planets fault here at all. I would put up one of the 5 pinion planets against an OE 4 pinion any day!
By the way I like the T-N-T mod although I would probably remove it if I were to rebuild your tranny!

well i think the 5 pinion is an over kill i have one just sitting in my shead,i have 2 trans one with a 4 pinion and one with a 5 pinion.and both have ran in the 12.s and both have ran some 1.6s 60' times and no difference.my opinion on the 5 pinion is for cars that are hanging tire their r in my area(town) about 10 guys running 4 pinion and all r low 13.s to mid 12.s and most of them are x-cab and cc trucks and most of them r powerd by a 6.0.
