Default i think G Force lost it's mind.

my friend jack wants to get his truck tuned here local.
told him about nelson, sounds good but too far away.
so i looked up G Force on tech and went to it's web site.
97-04 Gm cars and trucks price posted $500.00

i printed the main page, jack is going to call them tomorrow to see if the price posted is a mistake.

i just can't see spending 500.00 to tune for a cai and a set of long tubes on a stock truck.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GET YOUR **** TUNED BY G-FORCE. I like Mikey and Jay up there great as friends, and they may be able to tune the f-bods and vettes great. But their truck tuning sucks. Learn from one with experience. They tune them very conservatively. I had them install my cam in the crew cab, and go ahead and do a dyno tune cause I wasn't able to go right away up to see Allen. First of all, I was running a comp 216/220, not a terribly large cam, and they had trouble getting it to idle, so they just set it at 950 RPM and let it go. Then they were only running about 22* timing @ WOT. Everytime I wanted to go and get it retuned, they wanted me to come and do it in the morning on a workday. Hell, I have to work too. Any other time was inconvenient for them, and it interfered with Mikey tuning his own personal vehicle. Never did get a re-tune from them, just went out and met up with Allen when he got into Houston. He street tuned it much better than they dyno'd it, and was laughing at the tune.

I hate to bad mouth anyone, especially them, and I never would when they were a sponsor and we were over at ls1tech. And I was very happy with the cam/headers install they did. But don't get a tune there. I know of 2 other folks too that had gotten truck tunes there too and have both since changed.

talked to jack, he called, the 500.00 gm tune was wrong.
he was quoted 550.00 to tune his truck.
to tune for nos he was to add 100.00
to tune for a turbo or supercharger he was to add 150.00

see what happens when people think there is no one else around to do the same job.

I'm going to try and talk him in to some of the mail order tunes we are offered
and let him pick from their.

I agree with Curtis...don't go to GForce for a truck tune. Yes, go there if you have a Stang, Vette, or FBody. I paid $350 when it was a special. Nelson would have been $490 for my 05. I ended up getting a tune from Charlie and it was so much better than the first tune I got.

I know Mike and Jay too, and they are great guys. And they do awesome work. I will not deny that in any way. I would let them do motor or internal work on my truck any day of the week.

And they may be very good at tuning F-Bodies and Vettes and vehicles of that nature, but when it comes to the truck tuning, they have problems. I know of at least 3 truck guys including myself, that have had a tune from them and they could not fix the problems we were having or wouldn't. And we all three turned to other sources and were fixed on the first shot.

IMO they are: one, way too conservative with the trucks tuning, and two, don't understand that yes, these motors are similar in design as the cars, but the difference in vehicles, weight, size, gearing, ETC, ETC, ETC makes a huge difference.
