Default Good, cheap tinting in the Dallas/Mesquite area?

Love my truck but it has the worst excuse for a tinting job i've ever seen. I need the tinting stripped off the windows and 20% put all around. Anyone know a trustworthy, affordable place for this? I know best buy does it now but i'm not sure i trust those kids...

good and cheap dont go together. i know around here for the best on a reg cab truck its like 55-65 bucks to do the doors and the rear window and then like 15 extra to get a strip on the front windshield. the price depends on how dark you go because 5% tint is thicker and more expensive than the rest.

That sounds extremely reasonable. I'm looking to spend less than $100 if i can, and i'd be getting the doors and rear window done probably to 20% ish. Nothing to the windshield most likely.

How much does it usually cost to remove tint? Do they scrape it off or just use a chemical?

scrape it off. it costs like twice as much if they have to remove it. do it yourself. just get some razor blades and get it started and try to peel it off. if it wont come off then youll have to scrape it all off. get some baby shampoo and put in a squirt bottle with some water. that will help clean it good.

I just stripped mine last week and got them retinted (damn tint laws). I used commercial grade Windex with a razor blade to get the adhesive off after i stripped the film off. Then I went over it with 0000 steel wool to make sure it was all off and to clean up the windows. I got the sides and strip on the windshield for 75 with lifetime warranty and this was a full metal tint that isn't supposed to fade.

nice. what about the rear window?

Also, i've heard that windex degrades window tint (i always use water and vinegar anyway) does that apply to full metal tint?

Windex does that because of the ammonia in it; I would never use Windex on tinted windows. I just used it to get the adhesive off. I left the back window alone since its 5% and there's no law on it. It should be about the same though.
