yeah this problem doesn't have a all numeric answer. it's basically just a simplfying problem

exactly. All you do is go in order. It's a long division problem. Start by diving 3a^4 by a^2, then divide -a^3b by 2ab.

After you divide them the first time, do the same thing over again. I'd work it out for you but it would take me 10 minutes and I'm working on a term paper.

Hey, Nonny - I feel your pain. I used to be pretty good at these, but this is a really tough one! Is this an actual problem out of your course work, or did you just throw out some numbers? Usually, a long expression can be simplified but I don't see any simple solution for this one.

I liked calculus.

The only thing I've done for the last 12 years consistently every day is read a tape measure though so I can't help ya on this **** anymore.
