i have been noticing alot about people talking about and telling others on here to remove emissions control equipment from their cars and trucks. now i am no lawyer but it may be possible for the site to be held accountable for not posting up laws governing modifying your vehicle in such a manner. i know Jegs and Summit both have disclaimers on pollution control and engine modifications. just a thought. maybe i am overthinking this.

It would be one thing if the site was directly selling non-compliant parts and not stating they're not carb legal or whatever, but this is merely a forum. That's like holding Craigslist accountable because some dude got murdered on a cell phone deal.

I think this is being taken way to seriously. If you look around 9/10 performance forums will encourage people to remove emissions BS. EGR, Cats, etc are inefficient and expensive to improve upon. While it may be illegal I think enforcement is rare at best. Hell my father in law is a truck driver and claims 2/3 of big rigs have emissions stuff removed. It just isn't a big deal especially for those living places with out enforcement. Ie rural areas. Really if you don't live in CA the probability of getting busted are 1:1000000

Legal for the site owners has their butts covered. This is an open forum, take advise from other members at your own risk. If a vendor tells you to do something illegal, well, that vendor has a legal issue, not the company who provides the open forum for the discussion.
