Question Add .TUN as a valid file extension--Attachment

Why are the only Valid file extensions: bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt zip?
Everyone always asks you to "Post your tune" when you have an issue but, you have to convert it to .zip or whatever first. Why not allow the EFI/HPT file extensions to help members out?

That is a good idea, why doesn't everyone come up with some file types they'd like to get added and we'll see what we can do. I have a feeling it's some sort of security issue why only certain types are there now but, it won't hurt to run it past Brains.

the two file types for HP Tuners are:
*.hpt & *.hpl older HP Tuner files were *.bin - which was a simple binary file, but most people are using the newer files now I think.

This thread gives me an idea, how about a repository for modified tunes in the tuning section?

Also, .xls files would be nice for logged data.

You know as a way around this you can rename your tune file from say "Tune.HPT" to "Tune.DOC" and then post it up. Just tell people after they download it to rename it back to Tune.HPT and it will work fine.

So the final list is below?

.hpt
.hpl
.bin
.xls
.cfg

I'm gonna add

.efi
.pid
.vdp
.map
.tun

Will see what brains thinks.
