SLP never made a Silverado that came STOCK w/ a 5.7L LS1 right??

got this guy on our local message board trying to tell me his friends SOM 03+ RCSB with some hockey stripe Vinyls and other crap, is a 5.7 LS1 and that it says Vortec and 325hp on the intake manifold cover.....impossible right??? nobody put an LS1 in the Silvy's from the factory.

 

SLP does make a performance package to upgrade the silverado. Has different HP ratings and stuff like 325 maybe. The guy probably got the SLP stuff and added a decal. Here check this out.

thats what i was assuming, and posted that he prolly just has SLP parts and decals....but the friend of the owner plainly states, that the motor is in fact an LS1....not 4.8 or 5.3. he even went as far as stating it has an LS1 "style" intake manifold, and throttle body, and the stickers says 5.7L Vortec - 325HP...

I dunno, I just wanted to make sure I didnt miss anything from SLP in the last few years, and was gonna end up looking like a douschebag, haha!

 

Stick a magnet on teh block if its sticks its an iron block. Check the glove compartment it will say LR4 4.8L LM7 5.3L.

 

ya, i told him to check RPO Codes....he said where are those.....I gave up, and called HIM a douschebag, haha!
