Default Silverado SS (not sure if this is a good deal)

Hi, I am new to the forums. I had a friend pass away a year ago and his wife is finally selling the last of his stuff which includes a 2003 Silverado SS. It is is excellent shape. I dont really even remember him ever driving it all that often. To me it looks like a new pickup (paint is in excellent shape, 0 dents or scratches. no rust, no rips in the seats etc..) with only 120k miles on it. I dont know much about these pickups but she called as she is getting rid of it and will give me the pickup for 5000. Is this a good deal? Is this something I should jump on or just pass. The reason I ask is I am going to have to barrow the money to jump on this but if its not worth it then I prefer to stay debt free.

Thanks for your advise.

Yeah kind of a no-brainer, the truck would get $5K easy even if it was BEAT. $5K for a nice one with low-ish miles (for an '03 that is low) you're stealing it. Jump and jump fast. Then come back and post pics so everyone can be jelly.

Got more info on it. its not as clean as I would like but its still pretty clean. The seats and carpet look new but needs a new headliner. Could use a new headlights as they are starting to look faded and the paint has a few scratches. Noting big or deep. I do see some oxidation on the hood. and roof. Somebody changed the wheels at some point in time too Grill could use some paint. and it has 130k miles. All in all not bad. The engine is really clean as well. The owner had that Rhino Bed Lining put in and changed the exhaust to dual exhaust. Changed out the raido to some crappy aftermarket system.

Here is a question there appears to be some kind of toggle switch next to the cig lighter. Any idea what that can be?

Flip it and see what happens. No way for us to know.

That's a 10-13k truck here any day of the week, I'd jump on that deal in a second if I could.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Ive never seen a truck with a full console and manual climate controls.

Is there a good place to go for SS parts? Something like American Muscle for Fords.

What do you want for parts?

It's still just a regular 1500 really. Everything that bolts to a regular 1500 will bolt to yours. Some of the body stuff is special and AWD system is not like a regular 4x4.

Got ya, I was just looking for the preferred site that might have a one stop shopping type of approach for aftermarket wheels, tires, Exterior, Interior, ETC.. I need to get that headliner fixed and get some better wheels.
