i dont know anything bout the sts, but the reason your takin your stripes off is why i took mine off. but im tryin to get them painted on now. word of advice on removal, let the truck sit in the sun for a little while so the metal and paint warm up and the stripes will just come right off and the you can use some bug and tar remover on any adhesive left over to clean up. a good coat of wax and it was like they were never there. well atleast that is how it worked for me.

bug & tar remover ur talkin bout that **** they sell in the green spray bottle? i've been using a heat gun and my hands are killin me right now...i didn't even get 1 of them off...i got 1/2 off i've got blisters & burns all over my hands now...it looks like i stuck my bare hands in the oven to grab the thanksgiving turkey lol

that sucks. the bug and tar remover is for the adhesive after you get the vinyl off. mine was sittin the the sun on a 80*+ day and i just lifted one end and started to pull and it just pulled right off. and then i used the bug and tar remover on the leftover adhesive.

yeah the problem with that is the cracking...it won't come off in one strip so it's easier to get the vinyl off w/ a heat gun than probably anything else...besides that eraser they sell at napa but i'm not spending 20$ on that lol

i hear ya, and i dont really trust that not to put swirl marks in the paint or burn through the paint. anyone with a 04 gm truck knows how easy the paint chips off of the hood due to stones. thats why i personally wouldnt use one of those erasers. good luck with it man.
