Default P0455 Fix help

Hey guys, I got a 2003 Silverado SS that popped a p0455 code. I took it to pep boys and got a smoke test done and they said it was the purge valve solenoid and the vent valve solenoid showing on the test.

I got the vent valve solenoid at the local parts store. I'm needing help trying to figure out where and how to install? I have looked high and low for a write up on this or a video of it but no luck.

The part I got looks nothing like the few pics of anything anyone else has tried to install so I don't know if it is right or not. Its the only thing that showed up as a vent valve solenoid from the part store.

I'm going to attach a pic so you will see what I'm talking about.

Any and all help is appreciated

Its under the truck mounted either on or near the gas tank (been awhile since I did mine)

Pretty self explanatory once you see it under the truck.

IIRC the vent valve has been updated, id recommend calling dealer and asking them, usually comes with the vent tube, not sure if it applies to your truck or not, but i know i have done quite a few!!

Thx guys, i went and looked at it for quite sometime and looks like the only way to get this done is removing the bed or tilting the bed. PAIN IN THE AZZ.

As far as the dealer updated part, don't have the money for that right now. The dealer is too expensive so I'm going to just replace it. Hell, it lasted over 13 years....and I don't do dirt roads

Never had to tilt or pull bed for a vent valve... Should be either bolted to frame i the back or by the canister, pops on and off the clip, getting the formed hose on and off is another story, patience, bit of heat, and more patience it will go on but its not taht hard of a fix...

I spent most of the day looking trying to figure out how to get that thing off. i can get my hands on it also can get the bolt that holds that bracket off no problem. The issue I have is that is it. No more room to do anything else. If I could disconnect it I would be good. I will be giving it a shot tomorrow so I will see if I can do it before I we try to move the bed
