Default opinions buy headers or head/cam

Hi, so I'm new to this forum, I've been on ls1tech for years, but I just got me an 04 silverado ss and starting to mod it a bit. I will purchasing a db corsa exhaust k&n cai and a electric fan kit this weekend. Now I'm looking to see where would my money be better spent. I could get a legit set of headers for $1200-1500 but for the same money I could get a used set of ls6 (243) heads, small cam like a pcmforless stealth cam, new lifters, chain, and rods, and some used injectors. what is your guys opinion?

Don't waste your money on expensive headers. My pacesetters have worked well and have been on my truck since 06. Do the cam n heads. Knut some pacesetters for 450 n put the rest to good use

how did you connect your pacesetters to the rest of your exhaust? did you make custom mid pipes? Another issue is that I want cats just so I will not have to worry about failing an inspection.

IMO, a stainless header is a MUST if you daily drive the truck, live in a area that gets rain, snow. Headers help, so does a cam, will only compliment one another.

yeah the more i think about it the more i'm leaning towards getting a nice set of headers. i found a good deal on some stainlessworks headers with high flow cats for $1100. might go with that, and go with a head cam sometime in the future.

if they salt the roads in your area definately go stainless. we can get away with pacesetters here in the south, but up north they will only last about 2 years.

I'm with mangled. I live up north and went with tsp's stainless headers. Really nice pieces.

How well do the tsp stainless headers fit on an AWD truck?

I welded flanges on and made all new pipes all the way back. It's all custom. But I live in south fla no salt here but lots of water. Put the pacesetters on in 06 and still going strong
