Did you buy it new?

If not, someone could have done a shift kit, otherwise no it was all in the tuning. Adjusted shift pressure and shift timing is basically it.

Basically just a blower/intercooler and tuning for the rest.

no i just bought it few months ago, seller said gibbs did a shift kit,but he didnt buy it new,im the 4th owner seems all orginal, first buyer didnt do the big brake upgrade package, what you said sounds right it shifts firm but not hard like some shift kits i been in.Love this truck to death, the 20s and lowered with blistine shocks makes it ride smooth, seats are very comfortable,i dont like side boasters, these seats are nice.Just enough power for me,its all i need takes off fast. And 5.3 seems easy on gas compared to my other 6.0 silverado.New ones you cant see well and there to big ,cateye hood slops down.

No all they did was bolt on stuff. no internal work.

The truck would have come with a small hand held tuner with a tune loaded on it. I forget which company but I am sure it is the same one that Magnuson uses.
They adjust things like timing and pressure to make it feel like that.

they had both.

and i agree that they wouldn't've dug into the internals... one of their techs even told me a while back that they left the stock clutch in the 5speed 4.8s.
