ss silverado awd
dont know a hole lot about these trucks but planning on getting one very soon, so just wondering if i add heads,cam,intake, will the tranny hold, rear end,? or im planning on getting an awd, could something happen to it?

depends on how you treat it for the most part. With those mods yo should at least do a shift kit, servos and a arge cooler to help it.

 

Absolutely something could happen to it.... I don't care what you own truck, camaro, mustang, honda, whatever.... you modify it and then hammer on it all the time, something is gonna break...

 

and that about sums it up

 

tranny is the 1st thing that gonna blow .. sooner or later . . . then comes the Differential . .. .after some harcore donuts +burnouts . . but even a stock g-80 will take a beating . . .

 

Plenty of G80s littering the roadside that would beg to differ with you.

 

The major weakpoint of an AWD SSS is the front diff, along with the rear diff and the transmission.

 

I've never seen anyone break a front differential?

 

had my camaro for 3 years and never done a donut....im not hard on it, i do like to wooooop up on some cobras every once in a wile but, thats about it.... 405 hp on the z28 and clutch is the only thing that has went bad...

 

If you're planning on getting serious with things I wouldn't mess with a SS or a 4wd for that matter. Unless you're spending big money to convert over to a 4l80e, you'll be left with an anemic 4l60e in a heavy 5300lb truck.
