OK its done.. in a way
parts are on truck runs.. we have some issues to work out with idle and misfires.. but. ..
First.. I cannot thank ShadowSniper and Oleshifty enough for thier help!
Without them, this project not only would have stalled months ago, but would NEVER have come to fruition!!
I also must give MAJOR thanks to Zippy for answering his phone on a Sunday and providing us with some unknown knowledge that saved us!!!
Start up video is here..

anyone have any guesses or ideas why the truck will run fine up to about 3800 RPM and then start missing like crazy after that?

can you log or look at the tune? without doing that I dont think 'its the tune' is your best guess...

I would double check stuff first, Then try to get the truck scanned and logged when it misses, should have some codes??

things I would check:
rockers, if one is lose/not seated it might show up at the higher RPM's
Fuel pressure

good luck...keep us posted.

The rockers were torqued properly not once, but twice.. they SHOULD be ok.
at this point i still suspect either the tune, or one of the injectors is dirty.
we checked for vacum and intake leaks and found none there.
its throwing lean codes for banks 1 and 2.

both banks lean would rule out a single injector.

What are you running for fuel spstem?
Maybe a bad pump. bad regulator. broken pick up

new injectors (well used, but upgraded to 42 lb ones)
stock fuel pump, stock regulator fuel pressure looks good. the same as it was before the swap

you are sending zippy your PCM to tune or do you swap them with a core PCM??

A log and scan are gonna be needed to find out more, timing/KR/Injector stuff

And Brad knows his stuff! His truck is smoking!

Locked tune I would call them. They have to unlock it...You can also find a core PCm and send it to zippy and like majic it comes back in the mail...I logged my mail tune with a wideband and tuners and I was surprized how good Zippy's tune was thru the mail.

There are alot of calibrations so maybe Nelson just forgot one or did not remember all the mods he was tunign for, give him a chance to get you right.
