Chasis dynoing a AWD SS
#1
Is there any problem with disconnecting the front driveshaft on a AWD SS to dyno tune it on a 2WD chassis dyno? Obviously there is a slight load difference but most tuners can compensate for this.

My problem I only have one tuner I trust and they have a 2WD dyno. The only AWD dyno in the area is over an hour away from my tuner and im not even sure if my truck will fit on it since its designed for tuning AWD Mitsubishis.

The only problem with the import dyno tuners are the wheel base they can support. I have had my truck on the dyno with the half shafts removed and had no problems, and that was throwing down 472HP. Most of the SS owners that I know do it this way. You should have no worries about pulling them for a dyno run, just no driving arounnd on it like that. You will smoke that x-fer case in a hurry.

I pulled the front driveshaft on my dyno tune, There is no problem in doing it. Bryan Herter has done it several times without any problems. I certainly wouldn't drive it around without it, it will kill the transfer case.
