7500-7800 seems very high to me. I'm used to revving my car out higher, but I'm not used to seeing an 8 cyl go that high. it is gonna be my daily driver, so I don't want it to be extremely radical, I just love choppy idles.

It will be on spray, it will be cammed, and it will have a t-56. thats as far as I got so far.

I have also been looking at Comp Cams Thumpr series cams, and they look pretty badass

if your going with a t56 dont put anything less than a 4.88 gear. i had the 3.73, 4.56 and 4.88 in my truck and the 4.88 is what i am currently going with. the others were just so dead off the line and with that big cam youll be so far away from your powerband that youd have to drown that 4.8 with spray to move.

at 80mph on the highway in 6th im turning out about 2200-2300rpm.

t-56 w/3.73

dynoed in 4th gear, dyno limiter set at 5800rpm, my limiter set at 6500rpm

I want ot build my truck for top end pull. I don't need to tow much at all, maybe a jetski here or there and very occasionally our shelby, so I'm not worried too much about low end grunt.

this is what I'm thinking until the 6.0 swap happens:

-Longtubes, ORY, stock RST catback
-Big cam, something like a Comp Cam Thumpr cam and supporting mods
-T-56 with the 4.88s
-Nitrous, maybe 100-125 shot
-And a good tune

What do you think?

is the spray to get you out of the hole only?
what is the powerband on your cam?
i was told for any kind of towing you would have to have a 5.16 gear iirc.
other than that it sounds pretty good.

nah I'm gonna have the window of spray probably set to 3500-6000 at first, I'm not sure what I want to rev out to.

There are three Thumpr Cams available:

219/233 .553/.536 109 LSA---2000-6400 rpm range
227/241 .563/.546 109 LSA---2300-6600 rpm range
235/249 .573/.558 109 LSA---2600-6800 rpm range

If I'm building it for top end then maybe the last cam, with a shot of nitrous would yield what I want. High end pull with a choppy idle.

227/241 .563/.546 109 LSA---2300-6600 rpm range <--- this would be my choice. the bottom end cant handle much more than 6600rpm on a 6.0 iirc.
