Default Viking shock lower rear mount issue

Got the coilover kit from atomic and decided to put the Viking double adjustables on the rear as well. On the lower mounts, the shock body slightly contacts the mount, pic below.

Safe to run them like this, or do I need to modify the mount?

Can you spread it and get 1 more washer in there?

Is it only rubbing on 1 side?

It’s rubbing on both sides. I would have to persuade it to take more washers, but i would need a bigger hammer.

The picture is from the driver side. It’s even tighter on the passenger side.

Do like i did and add some washers to the bolts on the bracket to the rearend. That will spread the lower shock mount apart as well. Thin shim with more washers for the shocks.

Edit nevermind i thoughy u was using relocated shock mounts. Take a large adjustable wrench and pull the brackets apart some.

Yep, I am using stock mounts. I’ll crank on it and stick some more washers in there tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestion with the wrench.

Atomic makes some weld-on rear shock relocation kits, if you can't get this where you need it, that might be the way to go

I have the same issue, just run them and they will develop little wear marks and clearance themselves

I was able to spread the mount and get another washer in. Very little clearance but there is some. Now to start playing with settings.

Thanks for the input.
