Dirty Dingo Idley Pulley Relocation Kit - Why do I keep eating Tensioners
Hey all, I've been truckless for quite some time but been helping my brother sort out some small issues with his LC9 swapped 2006 Colorado, T56. We had the belt off about a week ago and I noticed the tension on the tensioner was weak, when I move the tensioner over to pull the belt off, the tensioner didn't return back to where it should very fast at all. So I thought, OK let's replace it with a brand new Gates tensioner. I get the new one on and I notice a week later that the darn thing is weak again!! Any ideas? Nothing squeeks, accessory system is quiet.
Belt is to tight on the accessory drive would be my thought, may need a belt that’s .5-1” longer to actually allow the tensioner to move up/down, instead of the belt overpowering the tensioner
Look at the markings on the tensioner. With the belt on it should sit between the 2 marks for correct belt tension. U may need a solid tensioner like stated above^^.
