We had the belt off about a week ago and I noticed the tension on the tensioner was weak, when I move the tensioner over to pull the belt off, the tensioner didn't return back to where it should very fast at all. So I thought, OK let's replace it with a brand new Gates tensioner. I get the new one on and I notice a week later that the darn thing is weak again!! Any ideas? Look at the markings on the tensioner. With the belt on it should sit between the 2 marks for correct belt tension. U may need a solid tensioner like stated above^^.
