To everyone, thanks for all discussion on how to make these trucks work. Bought my ECLB NNBS 9 years ago and never thought it would end up at this point. One day I'll get a build thread together and post more details.
Point of this is I installed a House of Boost Procharger kit with a F1D instead of the typical D1 or P1. This is on a 5.3. All supporting mods later (ported 243's, EPS 218/226 .600 lift 113+3 cam, long tubes, 4l80e, 4.30 gears), it came off the Dynojet Friday with 570 rwhp on pump and 631 rwhp on E85. Boost is at 8/9 lbs with a monstrous 5.5" pulley.
Wasn't sure going in how much boost was going to be made as there is very little out there on 5.3's with F1's.
So to all willing, it does work. Maybe not the ideal setup, but F1D was purchased with 6 litre build down the road.
Atomic is right... have some fun with this 5.3! You need to pulley down and give it a cam that will really let it breathe!
What converter do you have? Is this a daily driver? Who ported the heads?
Great numbers! 630 out of a 5.3 is amazing on only 10psi! You short shifted it too... your torque was still climbing! I attribute that to a blower that is under-spun at this point.
PTC 258mm 2800/3000 stall. 243 heads are from PRC/Texas Speed. My tuner did the pull in 3rd gear and took it to 6000rpm. He didn't want to push his luck.

What driveshaft do you have? I would pull this thing to 6500 and let it eat. The motor will take it... the driveline I'm not so sure. Thats a long *** truck...
2 piece driveshaft by PST. Front section is steel, rear section is 4" aluminum. Was at 122mph on dyno, so so far so good. Yeah, it's long. What I had to work with so went with it. It will only ever go so fast at 5600lbs with me in it. I accept that. Just different.
You're good then! Let this sucker eat up top! That extra 500 RPM will transform how this thing pulls. You'll get another 50 horsepower out of it. Not to mention shift extensions will only be better... you'll have a better starting point in the next gear.
