Weeeeelllll.... I'm a dumbass!!!! Fixed my transmission leak this afternoon(kinda got yelled at about it leaking all over the parking lot at work, oops!!!) turns out when i pulled the drain plug out of the old pan i bent the hell out of the left front corner of the pan, and somehow never realized i had.....
Dont know how i didnt notice this before....
Only slightly bent, i think that was just the worst part of it visually, as i unbolted the pan the whole thing kinda shifted as i did....
Happened to have a pan laying around, with a drain plug in it. that actually came out!!! Got smart this time and bolted it to another case and used a brand new chrome snap-on socket (that isnt beveled) to get it out and make sure....
No pretty paint, but at least it doesnt leak!!
While i was there i replaced the trans mount.....
New gm mount.....
.....bad engine mount...... And engine mounts are next couldnt get a good pic of passenger side but this is the driver side....

While i had the truck on the lift i went ahead and sprayed the u bolts with rust pentrating lubricant, so i can start on the add-a-leafs, blocks, and traction bars tomorrow.... I figured out that right now i have 6" of block in the rear, so the addaleafs and new 5" blocks should put me right at 7"...
Only down side to replacing the trans mount is now when i shut the truck off my passenger side cat pipe is hitting my floorboard again.... Damnit!!!
Also realized i am probably about due for a transfer case rebuild.... The back half of the case looks like crap and i think the tailshaft bushing is worn out.... That gonna have to wait tho, i wanna do that at the same time as my new driveshaft!!!

Lol, was debating whether to announce my idiocy or proclaiming i am a dumb ***, if i f up i have no problem calling myself out on it, considering the issues i had with the drain plug in that pan i shouldve just picked another pan up to begin with.... Never seen a pan that as you unbolt it shifts a little more with each pan bolt removed...

Those stupid plugs are a pain. I ended up having to drill mine and use an easy out to remove it on my 00
Ive had twist sockets round them off... When i change fluid in it again, i have every intention of finding a regular drain plug to put in it, the shallow heads they have are ridiculous, and if the socket you use has any bevel to the end of the socket it will round that sumbich off!!!
Well had an eventful evening.... Got the add-a-leaf installed on the driver side spring pack along with the traction bar bracket....sadly i need longer u bolts, the ones i had were so rusted they wouldnt come loose.... And only ones i had available are the minimum length thru can be and still bolt it together.... They are like 13" i need 15.5-16" if i am going to use my 5" blocks.... Had to put the 4" back in to get it out of the shop tonight!!!
