It is quiet, the way it should be, except for the exhaust of course.
The source of the noise was a loose #3 wrist pin.
They gave me the work order and looks like a full and proper re-build.
8 pistons, rings, bearings , re-bore etc etc.
Didn't charge me a dime and paid the rental.
I'm happy and hopefully it stays quiet.
How is everything working out for you? Mine is going in monday for the teardown, I had to reschedule my appointment further out because I ended up having knee surgery.I think a custom ground PatG spec'd eps vvt cam is gonna be accidently installed when reassembled and Pac1518 springs. I'll post up the results once we get the tune sorted out.

So far so good, truck runs like I stole it and is quiet.
I'm running a Pat G email tune now, no cam.
Good tune, a little lazy at low rpms but rips with some rpm.
You must have a contact if you are sliding a cam in there.
Good luck, I had a good result but, as stated before, it took awhile to get
my dealer motivated.

I know what to listen for and I'm still at less than 20k,
if the same noise starts, even a tiny bit, it's getting traded.
I have lots of buds with 6.2's in 08 and up Denali's etc that are quiet.

Let us know how you make out.

Well I got the truck back from the dealer on monday.GM sprang for a brand spankin new long block. The tech said when he measured the cylinder bores that two on the passenger side had measured out way past the allowable service limit and that the piston's on those cylinders had some serious scuffing. The dealer had originally submitted for a short block and GM turned around and told them to install a long block instead so I guess I really lucked out.
