Auto insurance covers motorized vehicles, have you seen the progressive commercials with the lady named FLO, she sells auto, motorcycle and boat insurance, homeowners only covers the dwelling and its contents, some have a medical clause incase you are hurt during a fire, storm etc. My grandmas been an ins agent for almost 40 years

His home was a two car garage connected to the house(and I believe that the garage is covered in most home owners policy especially if connected, although I might be wrong). I think he said that his homeowners policy was gonna cover the losses incurred on his truck. It's his business so I'm not gonna get involved but I think he mentioned with the auto and homeowners he should come out ok.

Mark...I have seen many times first hand the devastation fires cause. I am just glad to hear the most important things in life remain safe. I am very sorry for your loss and wish you the best in rebuilding what was lost.

Fire investigators said it was an extention cord that shorted out and cought surounding boxes and meth tanks on fire and then burned the truck. I fought harder to save the truck than I did my house, you guys would have been proud I jumped into a burning truck and got is out of the garage onto the drive way until I had to get out because it was too hot on my legs, neighbors were yelling at me.
again I want to thank everyone for the support.

By the way....I have mixed emotions about you trying to save your truck. One of the most important things we stress in fire safety is to never re-enter a burning building once your out. I am just glad you did not get hurt.

OK guys, it seems the talk is about insurance,
but before I get into that I want to thank everyone for there support, you guys are the best.

OK, now for the insurance,
California might be screwed up in a lot of ways but it is different than in the great state of Texas, back in 06 I was in Texas for a Denalifest and my truck got broken into, when I got back to Calif. I called my insurance company, they fixed the damage to the truck with out any problems, but they didn't cover **** that was taken out of the inside, 1 CD for 6 bucks is all they would cover pretty much, well a little more than that but not much, so I turned it into my Homeowners insurance and they paid me 4 thousand for everything that was taken out of it, now remember, the truck was in Texas not even at my house.
so that leaves me to my present situation,
if only my auto insurance covers it than I have way less than a 50-50 chance of getty anything above what the stock truck is worth, now if my homeowners insurance covers it than I have a way better than 50-50 chance of getting more than my stock truck is worth. I will know in a few days.

I have better than average home coverage. there is over 100,000 dollars damage to my house, that will be covered no problem, I have 175,000 in coverage for personal property, that will cover everything in my garage was was totaled, all spare parts, tools, everything in my garage, and everything that needs to be replaced in my house because of smoke damage, so I am way good there. I have 47,000 in coverage for loss of use, so what that means is, they expect it to take 5 to 6 months to fix my house. that is about 7,000 Month in living expenses, they have me in a hotel right now until they can find a comparable house for me that will take my 200lbs dogs,

I have pictures of the truck, but I am using a new laptop ( mine was in the garage ) I tried to log on to photobucket and it routes me to a web site www.atspace.com I have no idea why I can't get to my photobucket account.
anyway thanks everyone.
