I did it in my '69 Nova...it wasn't pretty. I really thought the engine was going to jump out of the car !!! The stock rubber mounts are designed to hold it in place in the engine bay, NOT take the entire force of the engine twisting without support from the transmission to keep the engine from rocking back and forth.

I once tried it on mine after installing the cam

too.

I did it in my old '79 pickup. Just make sure you support the rear of the oil pan and it should be fine. I used a block and some pieces of 2x4 if memory serves right.

as long as the motor is supported you'll be fine. Just don't wind it up too much, cause it won't want to come down.

The most I would be doing is idle tuning and making sure I have all the various electrical stuff hooked back up and functioning correctly. Not gonna rev it much, if at all.

You'll be fine. I do it all the time in other cars. Last time I tried to track down a vibration, I pulled my TC out of my jeep and fired it up. I revved it to about 3 grand with no problems.
