5.3 & 6.0 head cc test.

Just thought I'd do my own head cc test since I have the means to do so. This was done with a chem lab burette witch is about as acurate a measurement as anyone would need.
5.3/4.8 - 862's - 62cc exactly
6.0 - 317's - 71cc exactly
when I say exactly, that is exactly what the burette measured. Not 71.1 or 61.9. You can always give +/- .5 cc due to variables though.
This may be info you already knew but here is more proof....for what it's worth.

So if all else fails atleast I can use my 5.3 heads for now if I dont get the DARTs in time. Checked Patriot their stg3s flow a bit less than the DARTS out of the box so Im going to wait on the DARTs Ill call you in a little bit.

You must be looking at the stage II heads. In that case the Darts out-flow the patriots on the intake but the patriots outflow the darts on the exhaust. The stage II Patriot's flows are advertized with a 3.905 bore. You will have a 4.030. The stage III flow #'s are advertized with a 4.125 bore which blows the Darts out of the water. Patriot will do the 4.030 bore in the stage III for no extra charge, as they state on their web site at the bottom of the LS6 section.

Nice information here. Great job and thanks for sharing your results. I know the question about cc'ing with alcohol is a jest, but the fluid you use can actually make a difference. Many years ago we cc'd our chambers on racing heads with rubbing alcohol. Then we discovered that the local track officials used solvent. A couple of cc's difference between the two fluids. The was a lot of head scratchig and explaining and finally they allowed my customers heads. A chemist could propably give the technical reasons, but suffice to say, we switched to solvent and haven't looked back.
Perhaps you can post results of the port runner volumes as well?
