when i got my truck in had a hd front swap on it with new parts. they didn't have a bowtie in the grill and i finially got around to ordering it. the problem is the one i ordered doesn't set right. i need to know if i got the wrong part or is my grill for a different year model?

you can see in the pictures i have a bend in my grill but the bowtie is more flat but it does have a slight curve to it.

It appears that you have an 2001-2002 2500HD grill on your truck.

 

i just put an hd grill on my truck, and the bar is flat, no recess for the bowtie, just mounting holes.

 

There's a black piece that goes on the chrome bar, and the factory GOLD bowtie emblem mounts on it. You are missing that black "mount" for the bowtie.

Maybe you can see it in this picture, if you zoom in. All I did was peel off the factory gold emblem.

Yeah the 01-02 HD grille takes a special bow tie .
LMC truck has them for you to see , then you can search around for one that may be less expensive .

The bow tie you have is for the 1500s .
