Windshield Tint

Not SWAT, but it did used to be OST: Office of Secure Transportation
It's a former escort of nuclear shipments, and it's 4wd and diesel and overall badass, so I bought it at auction and it's my biking/camping rig

Yeah I was thinking the same thing Red sheesh that thing looks deadly.
I am thinking 50 is a bit dark for me looking in. I think I am going to do a 70% windshield, change my brow to a 20% and lower it a bit maybe an extra inch or so and then change my front windows to 20% to match the backs.
I think that would be fine enough that I could get some more privacy as well as not **** off the cops too much

I drive ~26k miles a year on a normal non-covid year and I have never been hassled with tint
97 Buick: 50/30/20 (sold) -got a reckless ticket in this pig and they never mentioned the tint. ~40k of daily use and road trips across Arizona/Nevada/Colorado/Utah: never tint hassled
91 MR2: 50/30/30 55k mi of daily use, never even a ticket. She's in "storage mode" and gets about 250mi/yr on her
02 Tahoe: 50/30/20: haven't gotten pulled in it since 2016. Tint never mentioned. ~140k on her since I bought her in '11
04 E-350: 50/30/20: never pulled, yet
Corvette and Ranger aren't on the road yet, so no issues. Neither is tinted yet
My point is: I drive A LOT, and if anyone was gonna get the hassle I'd say I'm a prime candidate: and it's never been mentioned. I don't think it's that serious of an issue, or my local LEOs just don't care

If I didn’t still have a ticket hanging over my head I may be willing to go darker but I got tagged in November and my court date got pushed back from March 27th to who knows when. Kinda sucks but I am not sure, it’s been almost 7 months and still nothing settled.

Getting pulled for tint or other equipment violations is usually a fishing expedition, it probably depends where you live too. My (late) buddy here in SC got pulled and the cop was going to tow if he didn't pull off the brow tint (below the line) in front of him. He was lucky it came off easily or he would have been walking.

on my burb, i have 0% 100% (clear) ceramic on windshield w/ 5% brow
30% on front doors (b/c i had issues getting inspected previously... standard glass had some tint to it already & 25% tint was just a hair too dark....b.s. lol)
back doors & rear glass are 5% over the default smoked 20% :-D

Damn that is retarded. I am going to stick with my plan a few posts up, I think that will be the best.
gator start getting inspected at Jiffy Lube, I rolled my windows down before I got there (nice day out, tint isn't dark lol) and they never even rolled them up. After getting retinted I will probably pull the fuse for the windows every time.

I used to have 50% here in TX on my full windshield and it was perfect IMO.. no too obvious just a hint smoked and no probs at night with my LEDs... I never got bothered by it even one time I got pulled over by a trooper for speeding and he didn’t even noticed my windshield tint.. after seeing a few cars around with darker tint I decided to go darker so I went down to 40% and that’s when I started getting pulled over due to it being dark... I got a couple warnings and decided to take it off but not I’m wanting to go 50% again since I never got bothered with it... my truck is black and I have 20% on my sides so I wonder if with the 40% I had it made it look darker VS the 50% I had before
