Putting a little bit more power to the wife's DD. What do you think I should do cosmetically? Thinking about 22s, or dropping the truck somemore. Has a 2 inch drop in the back right now. What would you guys do??

 

Get rid of the roof rack, racing stripes, fender flares and emblems first. Go with the 22's with a little smaller tire so you can still lower it. That fender gap has got to go! Also some smooth d-pillar covers. That should make the truck look perty for your wife

 

ditto on the roof racks, flares and emblems. I would lower it some more but maybe go with some 20's instead that way you dont have to go with such a skinny tire. Are those KMC stealths? maybe go with a black rim with a polished lip?

 

keep the roof rack, those z71's came with it so leave it be. remove the stripes, but keep the hood. get TYC clear corners and HID's. also you could get a polished bowtie on the front.

 

I'd say lift it a little with some Toyo 35" muds on a different 20"s or even 18"s. Ditto on the stripe though. I don't know if the running boards are a z71 option or what but I think it would better without them IMO. Wait a second, this is your wifes car **** nevermind she probably won't want a high vehicle to get into. oh well

 

Yeah, roof racks gotta go. SS roll pan w/ hidden hitch and SS front end, stick w/ 20's black mag polished lip, 2/4 drop. If your gonna keep the fender flares get them painted to match the truck. I 3rd on the stripes too. Good luck.

 

I have definately thought about getting rid of the flares, or painting them, but that's an expensive thing. All other colors of Z71s, Chevy painted the flares, but went cheap on the black ones with the stupid plastic. I though about removing all the Z71 stuff including the running boards and rocker panels, but not sure how many holes that stuff would leave. Not really looking to do any paint work at this time. It's definately at a cross roads, lower it more and go with the sport truck look, or raise it and play off the 4x4 look a little more....

 

BTW, what's everyones problem with the stripes???lol. They are painted so I can't just remove them very easily.

 

I'd say lift it. maybe like a 4inch suspension lift, take off the stripes and bug deflector. get the fender flares painted to match. clear corners, billit emblem. 35in tires on 20inch rims.

 

Paint your flares. Don't worry about the roof rack, you bought the truck as a truck right,....Not some rolling example of the latest status qou.
If everyone did the same mods would it not be boring as hell??
I think the strips are kinda cool too.
