What should I do?

You have to think of what you want to use your truck for, and how and where you drive it.
If you don't plan on taking your truck off-road then I don't see the point of lifting it. Lifting the truck and adding big tires will slow you down (heavy tires, and more wind drag), decrease fuel mileage, and handle worse, plus the tires can be noisy.
Lowering will increase handling, decrease wind drag (increasing mileage?), but may decrease ride quality (depends on how low, and parts used)
Back last fall I was trying to make the same decision. I tried putting the lift blocks back in the rear, and cranking the t-bars up, and put the fender flares back on. I didn't like the look of it, and it handled poorly.
Handling starts to become an issue when you start adding a lot of power.
So I did this

imo, go with the lift, a good 6inch lift will ride like stock or better, plus youll get the added ground clearance with bigger tires, plus its a 4x4 thats what its meant to do go offroad. there are plenty of big tires out there that arent noisy at all. ijust cant see spending that extra money for a 4x4 and not using it. but all ive ever had is 4x4's so do waht ya want man its your truck, but i would go with the lift and tires , always remember fat chicks cant climb into big trucks, but the skinny ones can

Listen to 6LZ71, what do YOU want it for? not what tom, dick or harry thinks. Everyones telling you what to do, you dhould consider all your options, $$ and most importantly what you want to do with it and/or the look you want. Good point about the fat chicks not climbing up though...

I decided to lowerr it with stingrays, 2/4 drop on it now.
I do used the 4wd...at the track in my old truck to get traction, and to go snowboarding in the winter. I dont really like beating the helll out of my truck off road...I did that with my first one, it was fun but I regret doing it.
Id rather beat the hell out of in on the street! And that in where 99% of my driving will be. and if I ever NEED to go through a little dirt, I still can becaus eit is 4wd.
