Has anyone powdercoated them or done anything to make them look more sporty? Also, any good tires for a stock 16" rim? Maybe a more agressive tread. Im looking at the Toyos or the General grabber UHPs like blackgmc has.
I'm also thinking about grabbing some stock 17" wheels off the 04+ trucks.
BTW, the reason I'm wanting to stick with stock wheels is the weight/handling issue. I don't wanna lose power just to have larger wheels.
post up pics and stuff, I've gotta go to work, but I'll check back later.

i would try to find some stock chevy 17", with come grabbers!!! I really like my grabbers, can't speak for toyos, but I was cutting decent 60"s at the track with the grabbers....

my buddy had UHPs on his dodge and they didnt last long. and they didnt have the size i was lookin for. His truck would barely spin them on wet asphalt..
Thats why i went with the Toyos..
I dont even try to run mine at the track without DRs or Slicks...
I tried to spray the 50 shot one time and i spun all the way down the 500' track. Hey, it looked cool.

While I haven't tried them in a 17" yet. I plan on getting Hankook Ventus's in a 285/60/17 to put on my stockers. They GRIP EXCELLENT in a 275/25/20 wet or dry. Hell, even on dirt.
Powder coated black would be cool. I'ma see how mine look on it being chrome and go from there.

stock '04+ 17" alloys are about 22-23 lbs each I believe, so that would be a good choice, I love mine and they are about the best looking factory 17" wheel out there, and they're cheap. Those with some 275/60 17 grabber uhp's and you're set
