Ok i need some help i am painting parts of the interior and the issue is should i fiberglass them before painting or just clean them up really good then paint.

if you want them smooth. sand them down till they are smooth then prime. after that sand it down with some 320 or finer grit sand paper, seal them, base, then clear.

I was thinking of going ahead and trying to get the painting done soon what do you reccomend that i use to clean everything up prior to painting. Someone told me to use alcohol or just soap and water. i figured that if i used soap i would be taking a chance on leaving behind residue.

Rubbing alcohol would be the better choice over soap post soaps leave behind a residue even if you cant see it.

I used dish soap on mine, but alcohol would work too. It helps get rid of the wax and oils in plastics. I don't remember any residue though.

Thanks all. I will probably have some pics posted soon of the paint job i'm doing the underhood first. The Twin is Silver with a black underline. The underhood will be blue so will the interior. I'll post pics of it soon.
