Well, the body lift is on the way... so, now what do I do for tires? List your brand, cost and specs, and what size rims are you on? I want white letter, with a "fairly" wide footprint. How wide can I go on the factory GMC rims... 16x8 I think... I like the looks of them, but not sure how big I can go on them.

I'm running 305/70 R16-33" Goodyear MT/R's. They do make some noise at first but it's not intolerable after you "break them in." Do you plan to off road or do you just want to fill in the wheel well? I have no regrets getting these tires, I love them on the road, off road, and in the snow. I've been using them on the stock rim for two years now without any problems. Recommended rim size was 7.5"-9.5" wide.

Pro comp Xterrains are a great tire. i run the 35" version of them on my sub and they are great. almost as quiet as an AT but have great traction on and off road. i highly reccomend those

Noise isn't really an issue... I love the "hum" of a good offroad tire going down the road, maybe I'm the only one.

I read a lot of off-roading magazines, especially when they're rating tires. At first I wanted to go with the Mickey Thompson Baja Claws but when put up to the mudding test (which is what I love to do), they did poorly. The best tires were the Super Swamper Boggers, but these tires are AGGRESSIVE and LOUD. The Goodyear MT/R's came in 3rd place overall, the 2nd place tires were Super Swamper TSL's I believe-another very aggressive tire. Not to knock the BFG/Pro Comp's but all the shops that I have talked to about lift kits, frowned on those tires.

I've got Nitto Terra Grapplers. They look awesome and are VERY quiet on the highways. 325 wide, 33" tall. See my truck site (link below)

pro comp tires do have kind of a bad reputation, but the Xterrains are definately different, they are a great mud tire. personally, with a 2wd, i wouldnt even bother with any kind of swamper, they are more aggressive than you will ever need and just drive bad down the road. i would say get the Xterrains, or Baja claws if you like them more, or if you dont want a directional tire, then get the MT/Rs they are all great tires
