I've tried nearly everything listed so far -- peanut butter, Back to Black, 303, alcohol, WD40, etc., but never was able to get all of the residue out of textured trim.

Then a while back someone posted on the Autopia.org forums that Eagle1 A2Z wheel cleaner and a toothbrush worked very well. I tried the A2Z this weekend with a toothbrush and it completely removed the wax residue. I was really impressed! You can get A2Z just about anywhere (Wal Mart, Auto Zone). It comes in a clear orange bottle.

I always shine them up before waxing so any wax that gets on them wipes right off and also so you don't get whatever you use to shine them up on you paint after waxing.

I would suggest using a product that does not leave residue.

Use a white eraser (stadler) or the like. Works like a charm, use that then a brush with soap to get any eraser residue off, works like a charm....promise.
