How do you get them off. And how do you get spots off windows..

.next time you wash make sure that its in a shady area so the sun doesnt instantly dry the water when you wash your truck. also, try washing you truck in sections and not all at once.

hand dry it with and make sure to hit every surface.... the shade suggestion really helps out too...

for "permanent" spots that won't come off with a good washing...

claybar the **** outa the truck, use a nice compound, polish, polish, polish, and give it 2 or 3 coats of wax.

ditto on the above. I've always had success with a good cleaner wax on 'permanant' water spots. If it's not permanant spots you're worried about, you may want to reconsider your method of washing. I personally like washing my truck in the sun, but my truck is white...
A good chamois is a good investment. At least then, your water spots will be more or less microscopic.

I suggested the shade because it shows up alot with black trucks like mine or darker colored paint
