Default Using a Dremel to polish wheels?

Anyone use a dremel with a felt wheel to polish their aluminum wheels. Just wondering if I need to get a special felt wheel or if something like this (but hopefully bigger) would work?

Get the power ball (mothers) or the Flitz ball and use a high speed electric drill. The dremel is too small IMO.

I've tried the powerball and the mini and my wheel eats them for lunch, too many small crevices/sharp edges I think.

That sucks. Mine are kind of like that a bit too. Little chunks of foam flying all over

Yep, I've used those with my Dremel to polish my wheels. They work pretty well, from my experience.

What attachment did you use? I'm trying to figure out which size/shape attachment (felt?) works well without damaging/scratching the aluminum.

My Yukon XL wheels were in pretty bad shape because the sealer had been removed, so I used several of the attachments to get them finished. The attachment shown in that picture was the one I used to really start the hard-core polishing process. There's a Dremel attachment available that already has polishing solution in the tip and it's pretty decent for a quick shine but I used several of the tapered type in that picture, dipped them in metal polish and used light-to-moderate pressure to polish the metal.

I agree that the design of the wheel kind of dictates which polishing tool works best. Some wheels will devour the PowerBall; thankfully my wheels don't really have any aggressive edges so the PowerBall is a great finishing tool. For close-in work or sharp edges, it's hard to beat the Dremel and a steady hand. Good luck!
