Unhappy Truck goes to the body shop tomorrow

Couple weeks ago I was driving at night through a construction zone by my house and a car coming the other way hit one of these things and shot it into my lane. I hit it with the left side, tearing up my valance, fog light, shock bushing, and finally tearing the **** out of the left rear side of the bed down low. Truck goes to the body shop tomorrow, not gonna have it for a week or two

This is what I hit:

Here's the primary damage:

Mucho sucko!

Yeah, I'm grateful my truck sits as high as it does or I might be buying a new front end. It hit hard enough that all of my electronics reset (radar detector, stereo, etc etc). The engine stayed running. The shock bushing was weird too.....the upper bushing and plate were missing but that bolt that holds them on was still there, which I can only assume to mean that it hit hard enough to pull the bushing and plate over the bolt. Craziness. I think I'm lucky it did as little damage as it did.

On the plus side, since the thing was still moving when I hit it, insurance is only charging me $250 comprehensive deductible instead of $1000 collision.

After I hit it I played with the truck for a sec to make sure that everything was still working ok (checked steering, flat tires, etc etc). By the time I turned around and caught up to the next car going the other direction I wasn't sure if that was the guy or not. There were a couple of streets he could have turned down and since it was dark I didn't see what type of car had hit it to begin with.

Damn! Hit and run driver's suck.

I would press my insurance company, they should treat this as an uninsured motorist? You shouldn't have to pay out of pocket.

Hmmm....good idea. I'll see where I can get with that.

Yeah, you gotta be tough with the ins. co's. Trust me, i've had to deal with them alot. If you insist another vehicle was the cause of your damages they cannot hold you accountable. Your rates wont go up either.
