Are Truck and F-body radios the same?

I didn't know where to post this. the question is will a 98-02 Camaro radio work in a 99-02 GM truck? My wife's cd player need to be replaced.

99.9% sure it will work. I think they are the exact same unit...

Do the 99-02 trucks have the screw-ear type of mounting or the quick release style slides? (The older generation was the slide/clip style, where as the F-Body has the tabs that screw in.) Electronically, they should be compatible.

They have the screw tabs.

They will work electronically. The mounting on them is different though. I just put the stock cd player from my truck into my 95 firebird. I had to remove the trucks "slide in" mounting points and use the case from the firebird cd player.

My steering wheel controls even work with the truck unit...pretty neat
