Trouble installing billet grill on GMC??
#1
Ok so I got this billet grill of Ebay that is straight across with no place for the GMC logo. Says in the instruction to remove the GMC part. I can take off the part that says GMC but not the bulky part that it goes onto. It looks like that needs to be removed for the grill to fit. I could remove that whole black piece in the middle of the grill but that is what the billet part attaches to with these brackets and screws. Am I really dumb here or what? Help would be awesome.

I had a similar problem with my Putco bolt-on except mine has the cutout for where the GMC emblem attaches to the stock grill. The opening of the cutout wasn't quite big enough to fit over the stock mounting piece so I used my Dremel to remove enough material to make it work. Definitely a PIA.

Its different than mine, but it looks similar. I had to cut out all of my grille except the chrome part. Then I had to trim down some of the grille I bought, it took hours to fit it correctly. I wanted my sunk in rather than flush with the outside of the grille.

This is such a pain!! How do I install this with this big plastic GMC in the way? I got a rotary tool tonight but its taking forever to remove the plastic. Is there a way to install the grill if I just cut out the entire black part?
