you can go to a local hobby shop and get the Testors transparent window tint and it works just as well and is cheaper. just make sure to clear coat them. i used 1 1/2 cans of the Testors stuff.

Dark trucks=smoked tails. Light trucks=candied tails. Anyways, I'm interested in smoking my tails too. I really like how blk_blazer00's tails look. Did you have to do any prep before or did you just spray/clear them? I was also wondering...is there any law against smoked tails?

yea i cleaned them and scuffed them w/ 1000 grit. make sure that your first coat is a light coat. If you cant see them for X amount of feet/yards then they are illegal but you can see them perfectly fine. here is a lit up pic.

thats up to you... I did it on the only pair of lights I had. Its super easy though. I scuffed it with a scotch brite pad, cleaned them up, sprayed two coats with the backup lights and cargo lights masked, then removed the masking and wetsanded and shot one last coat. wetsanded again and cleared. I used pretty thick coats so 3 was the limit on how dark I could go... they came out very good!!! they are on Seth's truck right now. We just never switched them back out LOL... If you want any help doing them give me a call, I'm sure I could give you a hand.
