My other question does that work better than some billet polish. I have put a pad and polsihed my wheels with a high speed orbital and polish and it works great. But I am thinking this is the true way to polish your wheels.

One final question: where did you pick up that felt bullet. I have seen only for Dremels. But those are to small for a drill or a grinder? thanks buddy.
I got them from a local Tool Depot (Special Order), but the link in my first post is a source as well.

yes, this is a traditional way to polish metal, there are many many types of polishing compounds and wheels, cones, cylinders, wheels yada yada yada.......you get the picture.

Update: gonna pick up some polishing sticks today, I have a few stubborn water spots the liquid polish won't take out. Overall, the wheels look much better. The felts leave a low, high luster finish so I will need a softer tip to bring that mirror look out of them.

Going to try some of these:

I tried just about everything to polish my aluminum rims. The best I could find was Mother's Billet polish... Then gave FLITZ a try. That thing is awsome! Just make sure you have a corded drill. I was about 1/2 way through the 1st rim when the battery went dead on a 14v drill. It is a little bulky so you do have to take the wheel off to get in between the lugnuts.

I hear ya, brother! My wheels had begun to look REALLY bad so I polished 'em...by hand! Spent several hours on each wheel and gave myself rheumatiz in my index finger, but the damn wheels look great.

Edit: I'm gonna try to link to a couple images, but this is new to me...so bear with me, please.

Polished wheel
3 down, 1 to go
Edit 2: I should confess that I was dumb enough to follow a guy's suggestion to take the clear off these wheels. Bad move! Once you do that, you have to really take the time to polish them frequently or getting this kind of shine is gonna take a LOT of time/effort!

I got this stuff called Gord's. There is a post about it in the detailing/ apprearance section. The stuff is awesome! I have polished my wheels once and it has been like 3 months since I polished them. Keep in mind that I live on the beach!! It took me about 1 hour and 45 minutes with a couple breaks and they have a mirror finish!!
I honestly think you could do it faster by hand with this stuff. I thought about doing what you are, but seemed like too much work and time.
