Default throttle body maintence?

Ok i have 180+ thousand miles in my truck and not once has the throttle body been cleaned. What would be the best way to go about doing this? Did a quick search and noticed that some just used the good ol' carb cleaner. Would that be the best way to go or is there something more effective? I'm new to the whole do it yourself so pics would be really helpful. Thanks!

You could use carb cleaner, or there's also companies that make induction system cleaner that does the same thing but is supposedly intended for fuel injected vehicles. Easiest way is to remove the intake tube, open the butterfly and spray the cleaner in the throttle body, and wipe the crud off of the throttle body and blade with a lint free rag. If you really want to get into it, you can completely remove the throttle body and do the same process on a bench...it's more work, but easier to see both sides and get in the nooks and crannies. An old tooth brush can be used to get the hard to reach areas. You may have to spray and wipe a few times.

I know that BG makes a good induction system cleaner, but I haven't seen it in stores. Any parts store, or even WalMart or KMart should have it (just a different brand)...I've seen it in cans that are the same size as a Brakleen can, and the can will say something like "Induction System Cleaner", "Throttle body Cleaner", etc. It's usually a few bucks for a can, that will be more than enough.

Sorry I can't think of any companies that make it off of the top of my head

Berryman's ChemTool works wonders. But it is all about the same IMO.
