Okay, those with 3" body lifts, I've got a few questions:
1) Did you get the "gap guards"? If so, where did you get them, how much $, and are they worth the $ ???
2) Do you have alot of slop in your steering since the install? I did mine this weekend, and since then, I've got a lot of play in my steering wheel, is there a way to "tighten" it up? Do you need the adapter that came with the kit? I put it on, but almost looks like I might have been able to get away without it... is this so?
3) What have you done (if anything) to make the area where the tow hooks used to go look better? Right now there is nothing but ugly *** frame staring at me through the holes in the air dam where the hooks used to be. Any ideas on how to hide that?

I have a 3" body lift on my truck
(soon to be coming off)
a) i didnt get the "gap guards" but priced them
and i was quoted around $40-$50 i think for the
set, i called an off-road shop. i'd get them
primarily for the rear gaps.
b) i dont have slop in my steering wheel but i can
feel a weird vibration when i turn that wasnt
there before
c) not sure what to do about the frame sticking
through but it does look like ****, i agree.

I had my body lift on before gap guards were available. I went to WalMart and bought a thick black rubber tailgate mat for about $15. Its the one that you are supposed to screw into the tailgate. I then measured the size gap guard I wanted to create and cut it out of the rubber mat. I easily attached it with sheet metal screws. There is a 1" sheet metal lip that runs along under the wheel well that I attached to. Worked perfectly. It was basically like a rubber mud flap but bolted along the underside to hide the frame.
This was when the rubber was new and shiny. After a week, it blended perfectly with the rest of the wheel well.

I was actually thinking about doing something to that effect, I was going to go to Home Depot or someplace to see what I could find for plastic or thick rubber.
