I have an 01' GMC it is burnt orange i was just wondering if I want to take off the Z-71 sticker would you be able to notice the paint behind the sticker faded? I know that on a darker color you would notice the fading but maybe not on burnt orange! What do you guys thunk?

I took mine off after 4 years of being on their. On my old truck which was black. get some goop begone stuff and then some polish and I don't think you'll have any problems. Also your paint on your truck will be more faded then where the sticker is becasue it hasn't been exposed to the sun. It really wasn't a big deal for me.

You won't have a problem. Might take a little polishing to blend but it shouldn't be noticable after a polish and wax. Get'em off!

I took mine off, but the truck was new. I originally had a peweter truck, and I took the moldings off after 2 years. No trouble at all. I say take them off. I like the look of a clean truck. Just get some good polish and if there is fading, go to work on it.

Why would it fade BEHIND the sticker??

Anyway, like they said just break out the cleaner wax and go over the area in the rear of the truck and you'll be set.

Find some stuff in a spray can called "Sticker Shock", from AutoZone or Pep Boys. I used that to pull off the "Amigo" on the sides of an Isuzu. The truck was 4 years old and dark green and no fading to be seen.

Default De-badge it too!

Go for it. And while your at it, get the rest of the badging off as well. Cab sticker, C1500, body side molding and tailgate emblems. If it doesn't blend in right away, a little time and hot sun will help it out. It's almost time for the old spring wax job anyway. A good coat of Mequires Show Car Polish or Zaino's will blind you. Looks better in my opinion. Shouldn't take more than a six-pack to do the whole job!

i took mine off when the truck was 4 y/o. there was some fading. it showed up on that dark carmine red metallic color of mine. i did NOT wax it. the wax will only slow down the fading process. now it blends in perfectly
