Default Tailgate Cap Removed... Need Solution

I'm getting a hard bed cover within the next few months and figured I might as well take the cap off now... So now I'm looking at 4 screw holes. I might have my body guy shave those if I decide to have him do the tailgate handle, but that's even further down the road.

The bed cover retailers always offer to put a regular cap in place of the 'spoiler' cap I had on previously. I'm not too fond of those 'cause they hang lower than the bed cover. Even if I have it color-matched, it will still create an extra body line (just the thing I'm looking to reduce). Anyone have any 'out of the box' ideas? ...something cool and temporary (translated: inexpensive) that I can do while I'm waiting to get the tailgate shaved?

Do the tailgate stuff now Sorry to be a smartass but the only other thing to do is get those little tac looking things that pop in there that could be color matched. One of the bed cover places makes them, I believe it was snuglid but not sure.

If you don't want to shave it, you can get a smooth cap and get it painted.

I had mine shaved and LOVE it! Good luck!

what kind of lid are you getting...if it happens to be an ARE....get the lid designed for the Silverado SS...and get an SS gate cap......
The cap covers up the holes even w/ the insers still in there....

If yer not gettin an ARE...jus shave them or opt for the smooth cap

I couldn't find what you're talking about on SnugLid's website. I tried a few other brands too. I got an idea... I just got some chrome bolt covers with the vette logo on them. I'll use those until I get the whole thing shaved. Thanks.

Nice truck! I'm getting a Leer. I was geting a SnugLid F2, but the leer is about $300 cheaper. I looked at the ARE and I didn't like them for some reason... Don't remember why. ...and I didn't want a cap. I don't like how the bed cover doesn't cover the cap.
