Default Started de-chroming the Denali. Help!

Well i started blacking my truck out today by taking the chrome mirror caps off and now need help removing the gunk thats left on them. I dont think these were put on by the factory and looks like the dumb azz that put'em on used liquid nails along with the 3m tape. Also took off the tail covers, taped off were the back up light is and srayed them with nite shade paint, and got the clearence lights done. Took some pics but cant get them uploaded, computer being stubborn.

It's silicone not liquid nails. Tried heating it up with a heat gun and useing a plastic scraper but didn't have any luck. Anyone got any ideas?
