Default Staggering my wheels

Well this weekend I kinda messed up... It was raining Friday night and I lost the backend coming around a turn at about 40mph (headed to extendocab's house) I have never had a problem with my Toyos but they broke loose and I spun it into a curb and broke the beads off of both of my rear wheels. we checked everything out under the truck and its fine. no bent axles or anything. I was suprised because the whole rearend took a hell of a shot... anyway...

I am in a dillema now, I can either replace my two broken 18's and reuse the tires because they arent hurt and are still pretty low mileage or I can stagger them and finally put 20's on the back like I have been wanting... my question is what tire size because I'll be going with a lot lower drop in about 5 or 6 weeks and they need to be able to tuck and not rub in the back. I have 255/55-18's on the front and I'd like to go a little wider in the rear. maybe a 275. but I still dont want it to rub and they need to be relatively short... I think my wheels are 5.75" or 6" BS... any help???

-Edit: Where's a good place to get 20" Toyos?? I couldnt find them on tirerack, I usually buy all my tires there.

How low are you going? What is the width of the wheels? Do you want to keep the same overall diameter, or do you want it taller in the back? I just went to Toyos site and started looking at the specs on the 20" proxes, assuming thats the ones you have, and they are several options for you, anywhere from a 255/45/20 to a 295/40/20.

its going to be down about 6" (maybe a shade more) from my 4" drop and the rims are 8.5 wide and I do have the Proxes, I'd kind of like to keep the same overall hieght or maybe just a tiny bit taller in the rear.

-thanks for looking up that info I am still kinda lost LOL...

I am thinking about a 265/45-20....1/2" taller and just a tad wider...

I have a 295/35/22 on a 10 inch rim and that is the max I could see anyone going and still be able to tuck. I have about 1/2 inch on each side of the tire from hitting the fender well.

are you going to run 20's on the back and 18's in the front? i think that would look bitchin. sorry about you going out of contol. i know them roads there can be slick. just ask seth when he drove my truck in the rain when we went return the rental car, lol...

I cant exactly complain about it much because it was a combination of a few things... rain, shitty roads, and a couple beers earlier at a Lonestar concert... oh well.. I am either going to fix it back the way it was or I'm going to try and do this... its gonna cost a pretty good chunk and later on down the road with buying new tires and everything its going to get expensive... I'm still trying to decide though.

Id say something like a 265 45 20 or a 275 40 20. either way that will look bad with 20's and a 6 in drop. if you want to compare the height here is a tire size calculator that might help you compare tire sizes.
